You do not need existing internet at the property, and there is no separate smart-home hub to buy. VacantView brings its own connectivity.
How it connects
Every VacantView kit includes a cellular hotspot that comes provisioned with a SIM. The hotspot creates a local Wi-Fi network at the property and connects to the outside over the cellular network, so it works in a vacant building that has no internet service of its own.
What the cameras and sensors do
The cameras and sensors are modular Swidget inserts that snap into standard Swidget outlets and switches. They join the hotspot's local Wi-Fi network. The inserts themselves are not cellular devices, the hotspot is what provides the connection to the outside.
Getting the best performance
For smooth live video, a stable connection matters more than raw signal bars. Place the hotspot where it gets consistent cellular coverage, and position cameras within good range of it.
